Issues Viewing Your Ordered Sheet Music

Internet Explorer may not show the sheets correctly. In such case, please try different browser like Google Chrome.

Avid viewer compatibility

Avid sheet music viewer is cross-platform and unlike Scorch, does not require installation of any plug-ins. It is officially supported by Avid on the following browsers:
- Internet Explorer 10 and above
- Google Chrome 38 and above
- Firefox 34 and above
- Safari 8 and above

The viewer should work on any OS that has any of these browsers installed. However, please remember that the viewer is still in active development and there might be minor incompatibility issues in different environments.

It should also work on other browsers that share similar rendering engines, like Opera and Chromium, although no official support is provided for them.

If you have any issues with Avid viewer, please let us know.

Unable to print digital sheet music

If you are trying to print the sheet music you've purchased but a message comes up saying "Cannot print to file" it means that you won't be able to print the sheet music on your printer. This will most likely be the case if you have a Kodak-branded printer.

The reason this message is shown because Scorch does not allow printing to a file. Kodak printers use a non-standard print spooling procedure that is similar to printing to file - this is why the "Cannot print to file"message is displayed.

If this is the case, we apologise for the inconvenience caused and recommend using an alternative brand of printer.

Running out of paper when trying to print your sheet music

If you run out of paper, load more paper into your printer and press the "Paper Feed" or "Resume" button on your printer.

Note heads missing or replaced by squares or other symbols

Missing note heads or note heads replaced by squares or other curious markings are often caused by corrupted fonts.

This problem can be solved by downloading and installing the latest version of Scorch plug-in.

Doing so will refresh the Opus and Inkpen fonts in your computer's Fonts directory. If you are a Sibelius user, do not attempt to update Scorch from your Sibelius CD as it is likely to be out-of-date — always install the latest version which you can download from our website.

If you find that you still can't see the notes, clefs and other symbols after you re-install Sibelius Scorch on Mac OS X you might want to try the following fixes:

1. Use the Font Book application:
Close your web browser
Run Font Book application from your Applications folder
Select all of the Inkpen2, Opus, Reprise and Helsinki fonts using Command-click
Right-click and choose Disable Fonts
When asked to confirm, click Disable
Now right-click again and choose Enable Fonts

You should now be able to view the notes in Sibelius Scorch again.

2. If that doesn't work, you can simply delete the Sibelius Scorch fonts and re-install them:
Close your web browser
In the Finder, go to /Users/username/Library/Fonts and /Library/Fonts
Drag all the Opus, Inkpen2, Helsinki and Reprise fonts to the Trash
Empty the Trash
Now, download and install Scorch, which includes the latest versions of the Sibelius fonts.
Restart your Mac

You should now be able to view the notes in Sibelius Scorch again.
