i don’t think they were ever really counted as metal, they had good old fasioned rock and roll tracks but they were more glam rock or arena/stadium rock. they have loads of ballads as well and if you listen to their new stuff its almost country. so i don’t think they were ever really classed as metal
no
I don’t believe so, I’ve always considered them to be a pop/rock band cause their music is more clean cut and radio friendly, I consider them in the same league as bands like Night Ranger and Aerosmith
They may have been bunched in with the Glam Metal bands of their era, but I’d say they were always Arena Hard Rock.
Hair Metal-Saw them twice in the 80′s fist opening for Ratt then later as headliners with Cinderella as the support act,so at that point in their career I would consider them hair metal.
f*ck no. bon jovi sucked. wait they still suck. jon bon jovi makes me want to go off myself.
In the 80′s, I believe they were considered hair metal.
messed up little cool dudette: From what I’ve heard, Bon Jovi only has two country-style songs–the song featuring Jennifer Nettles (of Sugarland) and another song featuring LeAnn Rimes. Other than that, I’ve heard no country stuff from them at all.
In the ’80s, they were considered Hair Metal. What is Hair Metal, you may ask? It is the darkest chapter in the history of metal. Thank God for the underground metal bands at that time: Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer.
Bon Jovi FTL
hair metal band yes, but not metal in the sense of metallica, pantera etc.
There’s all different types of metal, and yes, at one time they were called hair metal…before they turned country.
some people consider them hair/glam metal for their look, but they don’t really sound anything like Motley Crue or RATT. I’d say their hard rock.
