its actually only 10 bucks =D, I got it after my triial expired and I didnt want to lose my sheets
What program do you like more, Sibelius or Finale?
yes, just having it is a great advantage though
i have perfect pitch too! except i play cello, not violin.
finale notepad doesnt expire. its if you use a trial of finale songwriter or some other finale product that it expires.
well the reader program doesnt but the writer program does. when he asked he was asking about writing programs so i just said that o well
Thank you Ben for demonstrating the Sibelius program for us! I have always transcribed my music by hand. It is tedious and time consuming, especially when I have to play it back on the violin or piano.
It is even more difficult whenever I transcribe ensemble music such as string quartets. Now I know of this great program, Sibelius, which I can use myself to make my music transcribing work much easier.
why don’t you make sheet music available in sibelius format?
That’s so cool. I also transcribe VG music by “feeling it on my fingers.” I listen to music, think of how to play it on my viola, then write out the notes from there.
It’s to protect the music from being altered and redistributed under another name.
where can I download this program?
Cause we all know SilviaGunner has the best collection of final fantasy music on youtube
Too bad you didn’t play a full video of this for us. Dx that’d be great.
i wish he could transcribe
linking park: numb (violin remix)
I was about to quit on violin but that song changed my mind.
too bad it only has 27
I guess people haven’t heard of it.
oh i forgot to mention.. no offense ben chan but this video is almost useless, unless you are technology illiterate and you can play music by ear. it would be a lot more useful if you posted a video on how to teach people to play by ear first. AND if you already did i apologize
I don’t know why you got thumbed down three times, but I think what you wrote makes sense. He doesn’t go into much detail on how the program works. He gave a brief explanation on how he’s able to play music by ear, but that’s about it. So based on his advice, he’s saying: STUDY AND PLAY MUSIC FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND YOU’LL BE ABLE DO IT TOO! lol
nope.
You think what you wrote doesn’t make sense?
nope.
Playing by ear is not something you can learn in one video on youtube…
I agree with what other people say now. There’s not much substance to you.
nope
Uhh I think he is just showing you how he transcribes music so you can maybe do what he does so it helps you but it is true you cant do it just by watching this vid
it takes years of playing an instrument i think piano helps the most
i agree with MrRainClouds..
Ben Chan’s been studying and playing violin for years so his own ears are already trained to determine the right note..
my violin professor also says the same thing.. a person’s gotta have years of hands-on experience before he can transcribe a piece..
how r u recording the sound on the computer with ur cam software everything i try doesnt record the sounds my computer makes
@creepyicebox He actually as perfect pitch, which means he can identify what note it is even if he had no training. However, what you said is also true.
